TOS does a great deal to continuously ensure health and safety in our operational activities. By carefully safeguarding health and safety, TOS wants to ensure that:
- Clients, company employees, agency employees, and the social environment are satisfied with TOS’s services.
- Health and safety risks that could damage and/or injure employees or third parties are minimised.
- All legal rules and regulations are followed to prevent personal injury, material damage, and environmental harm.
- Efforts are continuously being made to improve health and safety. You can find some specific TOS policies at Downloads.
In addition to health and safety, TOS is deeply committed to meeting the highest standards of quality and environmental sustainability. We align with ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) standards, making health and safety an integral part of our operations. HEALTH & SAFETY HANDBOOK
Our Health and Safety handbook offers a brief insight into the health and safety organisation of TOS and the accompanying health and safety regulations. The content of this book is in addition to the specific rules and regulations of the company where our resources are being deployed. All our crew members must read and understand this document before boarding to ensure their safety, property, environment, and those working around them.

Mental care
At TOS, we believe people come first. When incidents occur, the impact goes beyond operations and procedures. People are affected, and mental pressure can remain. That is why we support Stichting Pastoraal Werkers Overzee (SPWO), publisher of the Practical Guide for Care after High Mental Impact Situations (HiMIS). This practical guide helps you to understand trauma and provides simple tools for offering the right support after high-impact events.

SCT CERTIFICATION
TOS is SCT certified. SCT is the abbreviation for Safety and Health Checklist Temporary Employment Agencies. It is a quality mark. Implementing and enforcing the SCT procedures minimises staff safety risks.

ISM CERTIFICATION
The International Safety Management (ISM) code is the International Safety Management standard for ship operation and environmental pollution prevention. Certification is proof of the ship’s technical quality and management’s qualitative aspects.

At TOS, we believe in a sustainable future. While this vision may not be fully realised yet, we are committed to taking steps in the right direction and inspiring others to do the same. We aim to motivate everyone to choose a sustainable lifestyle.
As part of this effort, we compensate for the CO2 emissions of all flights taken by our office staff and offshore crew worldwide. We encourage cycling to the office, operate a fleet of fully electric company cars, participate in Meatless Monday, and take part in the annual Boskalis Beach Cleanup Tour. Every small action helps!

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It provides a framework that helps organisations design and implement effective EMS, while also driving continual improvement in their environmental performance.

COMPENSATION FOR CO2 EMISSIONS
Since 2017, TOS has been compensating the CO2 emissions from all flights taken by both our onshore and offshore crews worldwide. We partner with the Climate Neutral Group, which manages our compensation through carefully selected sustainable energy projects.
