TOS Exclusive Supplier Rijksrederij
At 1 April 2022, TOS became the exclusive supplier of sailing nautical personnel to the Rijksrederij (Government Shipping Company, a part of Rijkswaterstaat). The Rijksrederij manages, crews and maintains specialised vessels and makes them available to Rijkswaterstaat. For these vessels, TOS supplies both permanent and additional nautical personnel for any vessel. These may cover a wide range of positions including from skippers to able-bodied men for inland shipping vessels, captains, first officers, chief engineers, able-bodied seamen, bosuns, cooks and watch persons for coastal and seagoing vessels.
The ships they crew are used for activities such as waterway marking, oil spill response, fisheries research, measuring, and patrol and coast guard activities.Op de foto (vanaf links):

Nautical personnel
Marleen Stuurman, Operations Director: ‘We have signed a service agreement with Rijkswaterstaat (Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management). As we did between 2010 – 2015, we will make nautical personnel available for the Rijksrederij’s vessels. We are happy with this wonderful contract. It complements our core business perfectly. The contract will also allow us to significantly strengthen our share of the Dutch seafarer market. It will have a positive impact on the recruitment of Dutch seafarers and inland shipping personnel. It is good to establish and strengthen these contacts. The service agreement will be for a four-year period, with the option to extend by one year. We are looking forward to continuing and extending our long-standing relationship with Rijkswaterstaat.’
A team has been put together for Rijkswaterstaat at our head office in Rotterdam. Stuurman explains that ‘Marco Lems and Tim Spitters are the points of contact in Rotterdam for our client, permanent staff, and applicants. Both Marco and Tim have worked at TOS for a long time in our maritime, towage and ship delivery sectors. On 1 April, Isabelle van der Paal will again strengthen our team as Consultant Crewing at our new location at Visserijkade 101 in Vlissingen. Isabelle was the first point of contact for Rijkswaterstaat between 2012 and 2015. We are happy to welcome Isabelle again to our new TOS office in Vlissingen.’
